Catherine (Phillips) Woods, 86, of Commodore (Cookport), PA died Sunday, February 18, 2024 at her home surrounded by her family.
The daughter of Metro and Mary (Bucca) Phillips, she was born on July 29, 1937 in Emeigh, PA.
Catherine was a graduate of the Barnesboro High School.
She married Franklin P. Woods on September 5, 1954. They shared over sixty years of marriage together until his death on April 4, 2015.
Catherine thoroughly loved being a wife, mother and housewife. Catherine’s primary focus and dedication was to her family. She especially loved family gatherings and the simple things in life.
One of her favorite hobbies was flower gardening. Catherine would say that when she was out tending to her flower gardens, she felt close to God. She also enjoyed crafting and doing crossword puzzles.
Catherine is survived by her daughter: Judy A. Woods and fiancé Nick Rosemas and Nick’s son, Brad, all of Clymer, PA; her son, Richard D. Woods of Commodore, PA; her sister, Agnes Boring of Emeigh, PA and numerous nieces and nephews.
Preceded in death by her parents; husband, Franklin; infant son Timothy Woods and her eight siblings: Liz (Tony) Marino; Mae (Bucky) Gallagher; Helen (Stan) Kochinsky; Anna “Honey” Phillips; Margaret (Henry) Legars; Nancy Higgins; Steve (Mary) Phillips; Mike (Marge) Phillips and her brother-in-law, Harold Boring.
Family and friends will be received from 3:00 – 8:00 p.m. on Wednesday, February 21, 2024 at the Rairigh Funeral Home, Ltd. in Hillsdale, PA, where an 11:00 a.m. funeral service will be held on Thursday, February 22, 2024 with Pastor Robert White officiating. Interment will follow at the Uniontown Cemetery in Green Township, PA.
