Herbert N. Ogden, 94, of Harris Road, Smithfield, died Saturday, February 17, 2024 at Heritage Hills Rehab and Healthcare in Smithfield. He was the husband of Mabel E. (Canuel) Ogden, who died in September 2023. They would have celebrated 72 years of marriage in November.
A lifelong resident of Smithfield, he was the son of the late Robert and Nellie (Brooks) Ogden. He was a Korean War Army Veteran. Herbert later worked as a chrome plater at Induplate, LLC in North Providence before retiring in 1995. He also served as a volunteer firefighter for the Greenville Fire Station.
He is survived by his daughter: Debra Seamans; his two grandchildren: Lindsay Langley and her husband, Andrew, of Cumberland and Eric Seamans of North Providence; and four great grandchildren: Luvayah, Natala, Grant, and Jackson. He was the brother of the late Florence Williams and Winifred Sweet.
His funeral service will be held Wednesday, February 21, 2024 at 1pm in the Anderson-Winfield Funeral Home, Rt 44 at Greenville Common, Greenville. Burial will follow in Highland Park, Johnston. In lieu of flowers donations in his memory may be made to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital, 501 St. Jude Place, Memphis, TN 38105
