STANDISH- Gerald “Jerry” Lee Gryskwicz, 83, of Standish, Maine, passed away peacefully on February 16, 2024.
Born on February 19, 1940, to Stanley and Naomi (Woodbrey) Gryskwicz, Jerry attended Standish High School before serving honorably in the U.S. Navy. After his service, Jerry was a carpenter for over 50 years, building many homes in the southern Maine area.
In 1959, Jerry married Diane Marean, and they shared 55 years of marriage until her passing. Together, they owned and operated Lakeview Bowling Alley and Dance Club, Country Crossroads Dance Hall, and DJ’s Convenience Store and Laundry, leaving a lasting influence on the community.
Jerry and Diane's most significant legacy lies within their family. They wholeheartedly invested in their children and grandchildren, providing unwavering love and support, particularly loving all the sporting events.
Jerry will be forever remembered for the resounding impact he had on his children, including his daughter Beth Mougalian and husband Randall, his son Gerald “Jay” Gryskwicz and wife Shannon, and his daughter Jodi Collins and husband Frank. “Pup” will also be deeply missed by his grandchildren: Devon Gryskwicz, Brett Mougalian and wife Emily, Joe Collins and wife Katie, Jeremy Collins and wife Peyton, and Bailey Gryskwicz, along with his great-grandchildren: Cohan, Jordan, Ava, Mayson, Hudson, Jack, and Eli.
Jerry is survived by his brother Stanley Gryskwicz and wife Janice, brother Dale Gryskwicz and Terry, and brother David Gryskwicz.
A visiting hour will be held from 2-3 p.m. followed by a funeral service at 3 p.m. on Wednesday, February 21, at the Chad E. Poitras Cremation and Funeral Service Chapel, 498 Long Plains Rd, (Rt. 22) Buxton, ME. Burial will be at a later date at Dow's Corner Cemetery in Standish.
