Claire E. (Swift) Foulsham, age 94, of Hanover, formerly of Norwell and Croydon, NH, died peacefully on February 11, 2024. Claire was the wife of the late Robert W. Foulsham. Born and raised in Brockton, she was the daughter of the late Ralph and Marion (Millett) Swift.
Claire was a 1947 graduate of Brockton High School and for many years worked in the real estate industry, retiring from Chart Realty.
She was a giving and generous person with a “Don’t tell me I can’t do it” attitude. With this attitude, she took wood shop classes and built furniture for her home, enrolled in auto mechanic classes and earned a certificate in hypnosis. She also enjoyed shooting handguns and Uzi’s at the range. Claire was also a huge Red Sox fan. Most importantly, she had a great love of her children and family.
Claire was the mother of Robert W. Foulsham, Jr. and his partner Kim Byrnes of SC, Donald E. Foulsham and his wife Jean of Watertown, Paul M. Foulsham and his partner Linda Murphy of Norwell and Ellen E. Nichols and her husband Bill of Holbrook. She was the grandmother of Robyn Foulsham and partner Will Lozada and the great grandmother of Maya Lazoda. She was the sister in law of Carol Swift and sister of the late Richard Swift, Robert Swift and David Swift. She is also survived by her former daughter in law Donna Foulsham and her partner Steve Holland, dear friends Lester Carter and David Sandburg and many nieces and nephews.
Visiting Hours will be held in the Conley Funeral Home, 138 Belmont Street (Rte 123) Brockton, on Thursday, February 22 from 9-11am. A Funeral Service will be held at 11am, followed by burial in Calvary Cemetery.
