Obituary



Worcester – Kathleen G. (Lovely) Bartlett, 73, of Worcester passed away on Monday, February 12, 2024.

She is survived by her one and only daughter, Stefeni J. Bartlett of Worcester; three sons, Scott M. Bartlett and his wife, Christine of Bolton, MA, Steven D. Bartlett of Worcester and Toby R. Bartlett of Groton, MA; a brother, Michael H. Lovely of Shrewsbury; four sisters, Laraine P. Lovely Kingsbury of Worcester, Lucille L. Biernacki of Rhode Island, Sheila J. Bailey of Shrewsbury and Sherrie L. Tarquino of Hubbardston, MA; 5 grandchildren: Isabel, Devon, Braedon, Samuel and Roger; in addition to many nieces and nephews.

Kathleen was born in Worcester, daughter of the late Vincent M. Lovely Sr. and Gloria C. (Trombly) Lovely. She is also predeceased by five brothers, Vincent M. Lovely Jr., William P. Lovely Sr., twins, Ronald P. Lovely, Robert P. Lovely and her most beloved best friend, Steven “Teba” Lovely, who she named her children Stefeni and Steven after. Kathleen was married to the late Donald E. Bartlett who passed away in 2005.

Kathleen graduated from South High School in 1968 and then continued her education at both Worcester Junior College and Quinsigamond Community College, where she met her husband. She was a stay-at-home mom, but worked as a paralegal when her children were older.

Kathleen relished reading the Bible and loved Jesus above anything and instilled that into her children and grandchildren just how powerful and important scripture and the Word of God is. She enjoyed listening to music and she treasured sewing. Kathleen made her own clothing growing up and had such a unique and creative style as well as making, stitching and sewing clothing for her children and grandchildren. Crocheting, specifically afghans was something she enjoyed making for others. Kathleen was the happiest when she was spending time with her children and grandchildren.

A funeral service will be held on Tuesday, February 20 at 11:30 am in Notre Dame Cemetery (Section, St. Cecelia) 162 Webster St. Worcester.
