Martin (Whitey) L. Myers of Tewksbury, age 92, passed away on February 11, 2024.
Born in Frankfort, IN on June 17, 1931, he was the son of the late Odie Myers and the late Verdie (Marsh) Myers.
He grew up in Indiana, graduated from Purdue University and married his hometown sweetheart. After which he joined the Airforce and was stationed in Japan.
Prior to his retirement, he was employed for over 30 years as a mechanical/electrical engineer at Textron (formerly Avco).
Whitey had a deep faith in God’s love. He enjoyed having his family and friends around him. His interests included a love of the outdoors, collecting coins and reading mysteries.
He was the beloved husband of Joanne (Maish) Myers, with whom he celebrated their seventieth wedding anniversary in November 2023.
Whitey is survived by his wife, Joanne, his daughters, Katrina Posner and her husband Dave, Denise Barnett and her husband Tom, Julie Turner and her husband Ed, Jen Chace and her husband Chris. He leaves 7 grandchildren, Ben Turner and his companion Amanda Siegel, Jon Turner and his wife, Monika Czajka, Dave Barnett and his companion Melissa Peterson, Melissa (Barnett) Farrington and her husband Ryan, Hannah Chace, Emma Chace and Sarah Chace. Also, great-grandchildren Isaac and Iris Czajka Turner, Hattie and Sadie Farrington. Adopted family members include Penni Wagner and her husband John. He leaves a multitude of other family and friends.
Family and friends will be received on Saturday, February 24th from 10:30 to 11:30 a.m. at the Farmer & Dee Funeral Home, 16 Lee Street, Tewksbury, immediately followed by a Life Celebration Service to be held at the funeral home starting at 11: 30 a.m. In lieu of flowers, donations in his memory may be made to World Vision at worldvision.org
