Loretta A Ford (Campanaro) of Medford, MA passed away on January 29th after a long battle from multiple stroke- related medical conditions.
Born August 5th, 1949, in Woburn, MA she was the daughter of the late Nicholas Campanaro and Lillian Campanaro (Salerno). She is the sister to the late Nicholas Campanaro Jr.
Loretta grew up in the “Wellington” neighborhood of Medford. She graduated from Cosmetology School and worked at the Mon Ami Salon in Malden. She then became a stay-at-home mom while raising her two daughters but continued to cut and style hair out of her home for friends and relatives.
Loretta enjoyed hosting large gatherings for holidays and numerous functions and took great pride in cooking and entertaining. She kept all the Italian traditions she grew up with and passed them along to her daughters. She had a great sense of humor and enjoyed joking around with her friends and relatives who were always dropping by for lunch or her amazing apple pie and baked goods she was known for. Loretta also had a great love of animals and provided a home to many dogs and cats throughout the years.
In 2001, Loretta moved to Clearwater, FL to fulfill her lifelong dream of living in year-round sunshine, ocean, and palm trees. In 2017, Loretta moved back home to Medford to be close to her family and her beloved grandson.
Loretta is survived by her sister Debra Lamattina of Malden, and her daughters Denise O’Mahoney of North Andover, and Lori Ford of Riverdale, GA. She is also survived by her grandson Billy O’Mahoney who was the light of her life.
Visitation will be held at the A.J. Spadafora Funeral Home, 865 Main Street, Malden Saturday March 9th from 1:00pm-3:00pm. A service will be held at 2:30pm during the visitation. Relatives and friends are respectfully invited to attend.
