Obituary

GILFORD --- Raymond Joseph Ouellette, 83, died Saturday, February 10, 2024 at St. Francis Rehabilitation and Nursing Center in Laconia surrounded by his family.

“A man for all seasons” was born April 1, 1940, in Manchester, NH, to Raymond and Anne (Gagnon) Ouellette.

Whether it was hunting, fishing, skiing, baseball, basketball, tennis or golf, he did it all and did it all so well. Pitching in Fenway Park was one of the highlights of his life. Traveling the world and having a great meal completed his 59 years of marriage to Sandy.

Graduating from Central High School in 1957, he went on to NH College and began a 48-year career in the finance business, starting at G.E. and retiring as Vice President of Transamerica.

The last 20 years would find Ray at CANOE planting flowers, herbs and driving the shuttle to and from Center Harbor Town Docks. He would always greet everyone like family to the restaurant with that infectious smile.

Ray will be greatly missed by his wife, Sandy Ouellette; son, Scott Ouellette and his wife Lynne; sister-in-law Annmarie; and nephew Brian. Sadly, he was predeceased by his son Brad Ouellette and brother Ron Ouellette.

There will be no calling hours.

A Celebration of Life will be held Wednesday, June 26 from 11:30 a.m. to 3 p.m. at Canoe Restaurant, 232 Whittier Highway, Center Harbor, NH.

For those who wish, the family suggests sending donations in Raymond’s memory to Alzheimer’s Association, 166 S. River Road # 210, Bedford, NH 03110 or New Hampshire Humane Society, PO Box 572, Laconia, NH 03247.
