It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of Robert “Bob” G. Hogan of Cary, NC, formerly of Norton, MA, on February 9, 2024. Bob is survived by his beautiful bride and soulmate of 47 years, Cynthia; his three children and sons-in-law, Bob Hogan and Dan Agreste, Christine and Patrick Siska, and Melissa and Scott Potenta; his rambunctious grandchildren, Lincoln and Marielle (12), Max and Vivienne (10), and Xander and Olivia (8); his brother, Bill Hogan and husband Michael Garland, and sister, Patricia Brackett and husband Richard Brackett; and countless other beloved nieces, nephews, family, and friends.
Born to William Hogan and Mary Hogan (née Dolge) on July 24, 1950, Bob was raised in Hyde Park, spending much of his life in Massachusetts before moving to Cary, North Carolina in 2020. A graduate of Boston Tech High School, Bob earned his degree in Education from Boston State College (now UMass Boston). Bob served proudly in the Army Reserves for 14 years, worked in Mass General Hospital’s blood bank, and rounded out his career as Director of Quality Assurance with Lyne Laboratories before taking his well-earned retirement in 2016.
Bob was an all-around athlete and lifelong, avid golfer; a jokester who loved making people laugh; a music and movie enthusiast; a handy-around-the-house DIY’r; a loyal, helpful friend; and a devoted, adoring family man who always had a smile, kind word, hug or high five for anyone and everyone.
