Rita L. (St. Pierre) Bouchard, 87, of Salem, passed away peacefully at the NSMC / Salem Hospital on Saturday, February 10, 2024 following a brief illness. She was the devoted wife of the late Robert F. Bouchard with whom she had shared 41 years of marriage.
Born and raised in Salem, she was the daughter of the late Eugene and Lucille (Labrecque) St. Pierre. As a young woman, Rita worked as a telephone operator for the New England Telephone Co. in Beverly. Following her marriage, she was a stay-at-home mom devoting her time to the care of their young family and in later years to the care of her husband. During these years Rita was most proud of being a foster mother of infants for North Shore Catholic Charities. She was a kind, loving and compassionate woman.
Rita is survived by her five children: Roger F. Bouchard of Salem, Jeanne M. Bouchard of Swampscott, Ann Marie Bedard of Salem, Donna A. Muse and husband Michael & Paul M. Bouchard and wife Renee all of Peabody. She also leaves five grandchildren, Ashley Brownlee and husband Kory of Aurora, CO, Aubrey A. Strempfer and husband Ben of Wilmington, Michael A. Muse, Jr. and wife Andrea of Orlando, FL. Brian Bouchard-Moreira and partner Jesse of Stoneham and Brendan Bouchard of Peabody as well as great-grandson Kolby Brownlee and her sister Janet Theriault of Beverly.
