Donald Wesley Flood, 94, Londonderry, NH passed away unexpectedly surrounded by family on Sunday, February 11, 2024 at Catholic Medical Center in Manchester, NH. Don was born December 9, 1929 in Framingham, MA. He was the son of the late Raymond and Vera (Campbell) Flood, and was predeceased by his brother, Richard. He was raised and educated in Framingham, MA and graduated from Framingham High School in 1949.
Don and his late wife Natalie (King) resided in Wakefield, MA for 30 years, where they raised their four children. After the passing of his beloved wife Natalie of 34 wonderful years, Don met and married Ann (Fortunato). They moved to Florida after his retirement, which was always his lifelong dream. They were able to see the world traveling to Austria, Hawaii, Alaska and numerous states visiting their many family and friends.
Don and Ann shared 24 happy years of life together before she passed away. At that time, Don relocated to NH to be closer to family and resided at Birch Heights in Derry, NH where he was very active in their community. For the last three years he resided with this daughter in Londonderry until his untimely passing.
Don served for eight years in the Army National Guard of MA. He worked as an ironworker for 25 years and was a proud member of the Local 7 union. Don enjoyed golfing, fishing and especially time with his family. He was a master painter and wall paperer and could fix anything. He was a faithful member of Tower Hill Church in Auburn, NH.
Don is survived by his four children and their spouses, Paul (Mae) Flood, John (June) Flood, Susan (Steven) Picardi, and Dawn Boufford, his 12 grandchildren: Michelle, Jonathan, Jarrod, Jason, Amanda, Jonelle, Michael, Eric, Laura, Matthew, Danielle and Caitlin and was 'big' Grandpa to his 19 great-grandchildren, Don is also survived by his nephew Bobby Petten and his wife Sherry, and his sister-in-law Joyce Petten, all of Texarkana, TX. He also leaves behind his four stepdaughters Maria, Sandra, Debra, and Brenda and their families who referred to him as 'Grandpa Boston'.
Don was a faithful man of God, read his bible, and prayed for his family by name every day. His life touched so many and he will truly be missed by his family, friends, and all those who had the pleasure of being part of his life.
Visitation will be 4:00 to 5:15 PM on Thursday, February 15, 2024, at Tower Hill Church, 45 Myles Drive, Auburn, NH 03032 with a funeral service immediately following at 5:30 PM. A private burial will be held at Lakeside Cemetery in Wakefield, MA. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to the Tower Hill Church Missions Fund, 45 Myles Drive, Auburn, NH 03032.
