Obituary




Edward C. Morales, 66, of Worcester died Monday, February 5th in UMASS Memorial Medical Center – University Campus. He leaves his wife of 31 years, Maureen (Baldwin) Morales; his children, Eduardo Morales and his wife, Lauren of Rhode Island, Dorotea Morales of Worcester, and Enriquo Morales and Rebecca of Worcester; a granddaughter, Aniyalise, his siblings, Joanna Morales-Bradford and her husband, Eric, Salvatore Morales, Miriam, Sonia, Adelaida “Biro” and Elizabeth Morales all of Worcester; he also leaves many nieces, nephews, and extended family. He was predeceased by his parents Jobo Morales and Adelaida C. (Colon) Morales, four siblings, Jobo, Jr., Araminta, Antonio, and Theresa.
He was born in Mayaguez, Puerto Rico the son of Jobo and Adelaida (Colon) Morales. Edward worked for many years at GWH, Chevalier, and over a decade at Dana films in Westborough as a shipper and receiver before retiring from there due to his illnesses. He enjoyed exercising his mind with crossword puzzles, reading the Telegram and Gazette from front to back, and avid watcher of Wheel of Fortune and Jeopardy often responding before the contestant’s; Edward had a great sense of humor often having the ability to find humor in the simplest things to make others laugh, with his witty remarks or lighthearted perspective. Family bonds were important to Edward, the time spent with family allowed him to create lasting memories and strengthened the relationships with loved ones. He was a man with deep pride, and conviction; never wanted to feel helpless or not in control. Your passing was such a shock to us all, there are no words to convey the emptiness, there was so much more you wanted to see and do. This love will never die forever in our hearts and souls, your presence will live on. We would like to thank the UMASS Memorial Medical Center for their decade time with Edward, especially during our most challenging journey.
We would like to acknowledge Dr. Vitko for her genuine care and concern for Edward, Dr. Trainor (Nephrologist), Anthony, Mary, and Omar; you made his treatment days a little brighter.
In lieu of flowers you can send your donations to the National Kidney Foundation, American Foundation for the Blind or a foundation of your choosing.
His calling hours are Thursday, February 15th from 9:30 a.m. until 12:00 p.m. in O’CONNOR BROTHERS FUNERAL HOME, 592 Park Avenue with a service to begin at 12:00 p.m. Burial will be at the convenience of the family.
