Obituary

GRAFTON – Kenneth R. Loiselle, 85, died Sunday, February 11, 2024 in Webster Manor after a period of declining health.

He leaves a daughter, Elizabeth A. “Beth” James and her husband Stephen of Webster; a son, Michael A. Loiselle and his wife Kristine of Blackstone; a daughter-in-law, Sabrina Loiselle of Uxbridge; 15 grandchildren, Mary Calcagni and her husband Peter, Michael James, Laura James, Matthew James and his wife Kellie, Rebecca James, Thomas James and his wife Mary, Daniel James, Caroline James, Brian James, Kathryn James, and Joshua Loiselle, Jared Loiselle, Rachel Loiselle, Joseph Loiselle and Sydney Loiselle; 6 great-grandchildren, Violet, Jacob, Lydia, Kenneth, Olivia and Samuel; a brother, Br. Donald Richard Loiselle with the Marist Brothers in the Bronx, NY; and many nephews and nieces. He was preceded in death by his son Thomas Loiselle in 2019 and by his wife of 27 years Lucille G. (Bourdeau) Loiselle in 2015.

He was born on December 8, 1938 in Worcester and raised on Grafton Hill, the youngest of the 9 children of George J. and Agnes M. (Belanger) Loiselle. He graduated from Saint Joseph Elementary School in 1953 and Assumption Preparatory School in 1957 and then earned a Bachelor of Arts Degree from Assumption College in 1966. He lived in Whitinsville most of his life and in Grafton in his retirement.

Mr. Loiselle started teaching at Assumption Prep School at age 18 and then taught French and Latin there for 22 years. He then was a French and Social Studies teacher at Grafton High School for 6 years. An electrician, he worked for Griffin Electric in Holliston and then opened his own business, Loiselle Electric in Whitinsville for several years before he retired.

He was a member of Our Lady of Lourdes Church in Worcester. He enjoyed reading, classical music and watching old movies. He lived for his family.

His funeral will be held Friday, February 16, from the Sitkowski, Malboeuf & Hickey Funeral Home, 340 School Street, with a Mass at 10:00 AM in Saint Louis Church, 14 Lake Street. Burial will be in Saint Patrick’s Cemetery, Whitinsville. Visitation will be held from 4:30 to 7:30 PM Thursday, February 15, in the funeral home. Donations in his name may be made to the Fund for Retired Priests, 49 Elm Street, Worcester, MA 01609.
