George R. Rose, of Appleseed Drive in Greenville passed away on Monday February 5th. He was the loving husband of Jennifer L. (Fiore) Rose. They had been married for 20 years.
Born in Providence and raised in North Providence, a son of the late George E. and Carole M. (Lombardo) Rose. He was an Assistant Vice President at FM Global, where he had worked for 20 years.
Due to his former positions as a coach and President of the Northern Rhode Island Vikings junior hockey organization, many knew him as "Coach George". He volunteered countless hours to the development of youth hockey after having played growing up.
George is survived by his wife and his sons, Tyler G. Rose and Zachary (Zach) G. Rose of Greenville. He was also the cherished nephew of Nancy Sylvia, Michael Alviano, and the late Mary Jane Alviano, Lucille Lombardo, and Henry Lombardo. George was a cousin to many.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be held Saturday February 17th at 10am in St. Philip Church, 622 Putnam Pike, Smithfield. Burial will be in Highland Park, Johnston. Visitation Friday February 16th from 3-6pm in the Anderson-Winfield Funeral Home, Route 44 at Greenville Common, Greenville, RI.
