Dolores F. Allen, 93, of Miami, FL, passed away on February 5, 2024 at the Serenity Maimi Jewish/Accentcare Hospice Unit. Born on November 15, 1930, in Carlton Place, Ontario, Canada, Dolores was a beautiful and caring wife, mother, grandmother, aunt, and friend. She will be deeply missed by all who knew her. Dolores began her career as a flight attendant for American Airlines, flying out of LaGuardia Airport in New York City. After her marriage, she went on to work for the Chicopee Public Library eventually becoming the Head Librarian of the Chicopee Library System. Dolores concluded her career as a Mortgage Officer at the Freedom Credit Union in Springfield, MA. She was a graduate of Lafortune Business College in Ottawa, Ontario, Canada and completed coursework at Westfield State College. Dolores cherished her education and used her knowledge to excel in her professional endeavors. Dolores was predeceased by her husband, John A. Allen, her best friend and love of life. Dolores is survived by her loving daughter, Kerry M. Allen of Miami, FL, as well as her daughter, Eileen A. Brennan, and her husband John F. Brennan of Clearwater Beach, FL. She is also survived by her grandson, Patrick A. Brennan Esq., and his spouse Olivia Moon Brennan of Tampa, FL, and her granddaughter, Major Katherine K. Brennan, US Army, and her spouse Captain Chancey Tillery, US Army, of West Point, NY. Dolores's sister-in-law, Marguerite (Peggy) Allen of Suffield, CT, survives her. Lastly, she is survived by her nieces and nephews here and in Canada. Calling hours will be held on Thursday, February 15, 2024, from 4:00 to 6:00 p.m. at the Grise Funeral Home, 280 Springfield Street, Chicopee. A Funeral Service will be held on Friday February 16, 2024, 9:00 a.m. from Grise Funeral Home followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at 10:00 a.m. in St. Rose de Lima Catholic Church, 600 Grattan Street, Chicopee. Burial will follow in St. Patrick’s Cemetery, Fuller Road, Chicopee. In lieu of flowers, the family kindly requests that donations be made in Dolores F.
