Mr. James F. Murphy, a resident of North Andover, formerly of Andover and beloved husband of the late Sandra M. (Blood) passed away at the Holy Family Hospital in Methuen on Thursday morning, February 8, 2024. He was 87 years old.
Born in Boston on March 18, 1936, he was the beloved son of the late Edmond P. and Helen (Canty) Murphy. Mr. Murphy was retired from Monsanto Company where he worked as a Chemical Engineer. In his spare time he enjoyed going to church, playing golf, volunteering with Knights of Columbus, and spending time with his children, grandchildren, and great grandchildren. His joy was his family and having them all together. James was a very faithful man, devoted husband and father and the rock of his family. He will be dearly missed.
James is survived by his loving children; Kathleen and her husband John Hulme of Methuen; Eileen Murphy of Dover, New Hampshire; James Murphy and his partner Traci Hagie of Westminster, Colorado; Kevin and his wife Rebecca Murphy of Andover; Patricia and her husband Christopher Sciacca of North Andover; Michael and his wife Amy Murphy of Northwood, New Hampshire; Matthew and his wife Jenna Murphy of Andover; Kelly and her husband Geremy Ayers of Londonderry, New Hampshire; Mark and his wife Shoshana Murphy of Bradford; Brian Murphy and his partner Felicia Fognani of Thornton, Colorado; and Margaret and her husband Christopher Corbett of North Andover; brothers, Thomas Murphy of Stoughton and William and his wife Linda Murphy of Federal Way, Washington, sister-in-law; Betty Murphy of California, 23 grandchildren, 3 great-grandchildren and many nieces and nephews. He was also the brother of the late Mary Marcelonis, Edmond P. Murphy, Jr. and Kathleen Brebner., brother-in-law of the late Corinne Murphy.
His Funeral Mass will be celebrated in St. Robert Bellarmine Church, 198 Haggett's Pond Road, Andover on Wednesday, February 14, 2024, at 9 AM. View Livestream Here Relatives and friends are most welcome to attend.
Calling hours will be held in the Burke-Magliozzi Funeral Home, 390 North Main Street, Andover on Monday, February 12, 2024, from 4 to 8 PM.
