WORCESTER-Helen M. O’Connor, 71, of 1 Healy Road, died Tuesday, August 20th in Clark Manor Nursing Home after a short illness. She leaves several nephews and nieces. 4 brothers, James P., Patrick F., John J. and Cornelius A. O’Connor and a sister, Mary T. Scott predeceased her.
She was born in Worcester the daughter of Patrick J. and Mary T. (Doyle) O’Connor and has lived here all of her life. Ms. O’Connor graduated from St. Peter’s High School. She was a secretary for the Commonwealth of Massachusetts in the Department of Social Services for 36 years, retiring in 1988. She was a life long member of St. Peter’s Church and the St. Peter’s Woman’s Guild. She was a member of the Massachusetts State County and Municipal Employees Association.
The funeral will be Thursday, August 22nd, from O’Connor Brothers Funeral Home, 592 Park Avenue, with a mass at 10:00 AM in St. Peter’s Church, 931 Main Street. Burial will be in St. John’s Cemetery. A calling hour will be from 8:30 until 9:30 AM the morning of the funeral.
