Maxie Wales Evans, 94, of Ty Ty passed away Saturday, January 3, 2004, at her residence. Her funeral service was held at 11:00 a.m. Tuesday, January 6, 2004, at Ty Ty First Baptist Church with the Rev. Danny Jones officiating. Mrs. Evans was laid to rest at Ty Ty First Baptist Church Cemetery.
Chip Lee, Randy Godwin, Josh Godwin, Derry Hewitt, Scott Evans and Jason Evans served as pallbearers.
Born May 19, 1909, in Worth County, Mrs. Evans was the daughter of the late James Henry Wales and Sallie Chapman Wales. She was also preceded in death by her husband, Marcus Harris Evans, who passed away in 1970; one grandchild, Julia Evans; and one brother, Henry Harvey Wales. She was a homemaker; and she was a member of Ty Ty First Baptist Church.
Mrs. Evans is survived by three sons and daughters-in-law, James and Sylvia Evans of Tifton, Rufus and Peggy Evans of Ty Ty and Harris and Martha Evans of Dallas, Texas; seven grandchildren; seventeen great-grandchildren; and three great-great grandchildren.
