Bennett W. “Benny” Barringer, 62, of Tifton passed away Tuesday, February 6, 2024, at South Georgia Medical Center in Valdosta. His funeral service will be held at 11:00 a.m. Saturday, February 10, 2024, in the Chapel of Bowen-Donaldson Home for Funerals with the Rev. Todd Garner officiating. Mr. Barringer will be laid to rest at Omega Cemetery. The family will receive friends on Friday, February 9, 2024, from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. in the Chapel of Bowen-Donaldson Home for Funerals.
Friends and drivers from UPS will serve as pallbearers and honorary pallbearers.
Born August 8, 1961, in Memphis, Tennessee, Mr. Barringer was the son of Elizabeth Bennett Barringer and the late Winston Barringer. He was also preceded in death by one brother. He was a semi driver for United Parcel Service. He enjoyed music and played in several bands, the last one being the Blues Factor. He loved helping others but did so quietly.
Mr. Barringer is survived by his fiance’, Iris Tanner Sears of Tifton; four sons, Kevin Barringer (Julie Sumner) of Tifton, Ryan Giddens of Quitman, Blane Barringer of North Carolina and Trae Barringer of Adel; one brother, Cliff Barringer; one sister, Summer B. Walker (Brad) of Texas; Trent Doss, who he loved like a son, (Leah Nieves) of Tifton; and two nieces, Sierra Staley and Saliese Staley.
