Carol A. (Draheim) MacKinnon, age 89, of Brockton, died on February 2, 2024 at West Acres Nursing Home. Carol was the loving wife for 64 years of the late William “Bill” MacKinnon who passed away on May 6, 2020. Born in Boston, she was the daughter of the late Henry and Marion (MacIntyre) Draheim.
Raised in Quincy and a graduate of North Quincy High School, Carol had been a resident of Brockton for the last 62 years. When she enrolled at Northeastern University she became a member of the first class to include women; she completed her Associate Liberal Arts Degree at the age of 70 from Massasoit Community College.
She worked as a lab technician at the Deaconess Hospital and had a long career in women’s retail. Carol was a lifelong fan of all Boston sports.
Carol was the loving mother of William MacKinnon, Jr. and his wife Barbara of Bridgewater, Paul MacKinnon and his wife Susan of Charlton, James MacKinnon and his wife Elizabeth of Marlboro, Gail Fiandaca and her husband Charles of Brockton, Henry MacKinnon and his wife Jennifer of Fitchburg and Frederick MacKinnon and his wife Gail of Lakeville. She also leaves 14 grandchildren, 6 great grandchildren and her loving furr kitty Granite.
A Graveside Service will be held in the Massachusetts National Cemetery, Bourne on Thursday, February 15, at 12:45pm.
