Richard C. Endruschat, 95
Dateline: Plainville, MA
Richard C. (Dick) Endruschat of Plainville, MA transitioned peacefully at home on Feb 7, 2024. He was 95 years young. Dick was preceded in death by his loving and devoted wife of 64 years Frances B. (McLaughlin) Endruschat just last year.
He was the only son of the late Ethel M. Toske of Boston, MA
Dick was honorably discharged from the United States Army in 1953 where he served as a Sergeant and was stationed in Germany. Early in Dick’s working years he did accounting for the New England Deaconess Hospital and worked at a bank where he met his adoring wife to be. Dick did bookkeeping for the amusement parks at Nantasket Beach and Revere Beach for many years. He retired from American Textile/Robert Allen Fabrics, where he worked for over 35 years as the Comptroller. After his retirement he became a regular fixture every morning at Goochie’s Restaurant in Plainville, where he became known among the regulars as King Richard. He volunteered for 10 years in the cafeteria at Sturdy Memorial Hospital. Dick never met a stranger and thoroughly enjoyed speaking with anyone and everyone. He was the most social person you could ever meet.
The richness of his life knows no words and our love for him no boundaries. His positive outlook and approachable persona drew you to him. His laugh, love, generosity and glowing soul will be missed. Dick and his wife Fran looked so forward to their vacations in Vegas and Tahoe with their friends and spending summer vacations with the kids and grandkids at various beach houses they would rent. Dick also enjoyed the fishing excursions with friends.
Dick was a survivor of many illnesses in his 95 years of life, including EEE that would have taken a weaker man. Immortality is the only entity that he could not conquer.
Dick is survived by his 4 children Holly Endruschat, Jean Loughlin, Richard K. (Cheryl) Endruschat and John (Stephanie) Endruschat, his 5 grandchildren, Chelsea Loughlin, Brian (Kristi Pedro) Loughlin, Alexi Endruschat, Alex Endruschat and Andrew Endruschat. Dick is also survived by his extended grandchildren Cameron Flower, Timmy Brennick, Michael (Haley) Baccari and his extended great-grandchildren Lennox and Hendrix Baccari, as well as many much loved nieces and nephews.
