LAVRENNIKOV, Eugene of Westwood, formerly of Rostov-On-Don, Russia, passed away on February 5, 2024, surrounded by his loving family.
Beloved husband of Tatiana (Subbotina) Lavrennikov. Devoted father of Daria Lavrennikov and Andrew Lavrennikov and his wife Jordan.
Eugene was born on sept. 7, 1951 to Andrei Lavrennikov and Nina (Zhdanova) Lavrennikova in Murmansk, Russia. He was one of three children, including a fraternal twin sister. Brother of Irina Enina and Vasili Lavrennikov. Uncle of Katya Enina, and Natasha Lavrennikova.
Eugene was raised in Rostov-on-Don where he studied engineering. He then moved to Moscow and met his future wife, Tatiana. They were married in 1983 and had 41 amazing years together, spending most of that time raising their daughter and son in Massachusetts.
Eugene was devoted to creating a life full of meaning and purpose for his family. With his philosophical outlook on the world, he always gave his family and friends something to think deeply about. And yet he found beauty in the simplest of things. He was a poet, photographer, videographer, and fisherman, all of which was inspired by his early years in Russia. In 1983, Eugene wrote this poem for his beloved wife…
“I
for you
will write something,
So that everything will tremble,
even the spruce and pines.
And call on the sky to be
Blue, blue
I myself,
from happiness
can hardly stand on my feet
I
because of you
will create something!”
A Funeral Service will be held at Holy Transfiguration Monastery 278 Warren St. Brookline on Thursday, Feb 8th at 10am. Interment New Westwood Cemetery. In lieu of flowers donations may be made in Eugene's memory to Holy Transfiguration Monastery 278 Warren St. Brookline 02445.
