Lucien A. Camoreyt, 90, of Medway died peacefully after a brief illness Monday, January 29, 2024 surrounded by family members.
Lucien was born in Kansas City, Kansas on April 5, 1933 to Andre and Lucie (Auffray) Camoreyt. He grew up in Watertown, Massachusetts and joined the US Navy after graduating from Watertown High School.
Following in the footsteps of his father who was a hairdresser, Lucien attended Kenneth's Hairdressing School in Framingham, Massachusetts. He went on to own and operate Mr. Lucien’s Salon in Medway and later New Image Hair Salon in Millis. He also spent many years employed at Blaine Hair School where he held roles as a teacher and a director.
Lucien was a devoted husband to his wife of 45 years, Virginia “Ginny” (Mills) Camoreyt.
He is also survived by his children, Denise Petito and her husband Michael of Vassalboro, Maine, Nancy Gonzalez of Fort Lauderdale, Florida, Anthony “Tony” Camoreyt and his wife Christine of Worcester, and a wonderful Dad to the children he stepped up to raise with his wife, Dawn Fiori of Medway, Vincent “Stephen” Fiori of Hyannis, Kevin Fiori and his wife Deborah of Fort Lauderdale, Florida, Susan Hafford of Millis, Julie Terrasi of Franklin, Christopher Fiori and his wife Stephanne of Lancaster, and Andrea Fiori of Nashua, New Hampshire.
He is also survived by his daughter-in-law Donna Fiori, wife of the late James Fiori, of Medway.
He is predeceased by his parents, his sister, Jeanne (Camoreyt) Foret, and his brother-in-law, Pierre Foret.
Lucien is survived by 29 grandchildren, 20 great-grandchildren, his nephew Pierre “Pete” (Phred) Foret of Canada, nephew Michel “Mickey” (Fran) Foret of Canton, Massachusetts, and his niece Janine Foret of Plymouth, Massachusetts and many other dear family members and friends.
Lucien was an avid reader. He loved gardening, fishing, the New England Patriots, and traveling. Later in life, his favorite “travels” were “driving Miss Daisy” (his wife) around Medway and surrounding towns to sight-see and visit family and friends.
We will miss him dearly, particularly his booming laugh and the updates he provided his grandchildren on Christmas Eve detailing Santa’s location which he personally received from his buddy, Freddie the Elf.
His calling hours will be held on Sunday, February 11, in the Ginley Crowley Funeral Home (www.ginleyfuneralhomes.com) 3 Barber Street, Medway from 2:00-5:00p.m. with a service to be held in the funeral home at 4:30 p.m.
