Bryson, Joan S. (Pesce) Of Needham and long time resident of Weston. February 4, 2024. Graduated in 1949 from The Brimmer May School, Boston. She was a graduate of Brown University, class of 1953. She was a member of The Boston Symphony Association of Volunteers, a member of the Newton-Wellesley Hospital Auxiliary, a member of the Wellesley Garden Study Group, and a member of Brae Burn Country Club for 40 years.
She was the beloved wife for 62 years of Francis Bryson, devoted mother of Pamela Kinn and her late husband Bruce of Wellesley, MA, the late Carol Laves and her husband Joerg of Bedford, NH, Michael Bryson of Needham, MA, and David Bryson of Wellesley, MA.
She was the beloved grandmother of Samantha Kinn and her husband Samuel Dionne of Westwood, MA, Emily Kinn and her fiancé Brian Wermcrantz, Nicholas Laves and his wife Caitlyn Meditz, Samuel Laves and his wife Ana Segovia, Luke Bryson, Emmie Rose Bryson, Stephanie Bryson, Victoria Bryson, and Caroline Bryson, and well as the beloved great-grandmother of Jameson and Frederic Dionne.
Joan was the beloved sister of the late Ruth Anne Bortz and her husband Walter Bortz of Portola Valley, CA.
Joan was a great sports enthusiast. The family skied at Sugarbush, VT for many years. She loved to play on tennis and paddle tennis teams with her friends.
The last few years of her life she lived at North Hill, Needham, MA, where she was involved in a flower arranging group and sang in the chorus.
A private funeral Mass will be held at St. Julia Church, Weston followed by a private burial at Mt. Auburn Cemetery, Cambridge.
