Obituary

Floro Agustin de Armas, age 82, passed away on February 4, 2024. He was the loving husband of the late Josefina (Barredo) de Armas, who passed away in 2019.
Born in Havana, Cuba, Floro was the son of the late Agustin and Mercedes (Bermudez) de Armas. In the 1960’s, Floro fled Fidel Castro’s leadership in Cuba and left for Spain, where he met his future wife, Josefina Barredo, who had also left Cuba. They immigrated to the United States and settled in Union City, New Jersey, which had a large Cuban population.

In New Jersey, Floro worked as a pressor at various garment companies and eventually owned his own clothing manufacturing company, F&J Sportwear, which operated until the downturn in the economy. He later worked as a custodian at an elementary school in Union City until his retirement.
A resident of Woburn, he was the devoted father of Judith de Armas Kuntz and her husband Kevin of Woburn and is also lovingly survived by two grandsons, Christian and Nicholas Kuntz.
