Catherine A. “Katie” (Hodgson) McHugh, age 64, of Billerica, a former longtime Tewksbury resident, passed away at her home on Friday, February 2, 2024, following a courageous battle with cancer.
Born in Lowell on July 6, 1959, she was the daughter of the late Thomas B. Hodgson, Jr. and the late Dorothy E. “Dottie” (Sullivan) Hodgson.
Katie was raised in Tewksbury and graduated from Notre Dame Academy in Tyngsborough. Following high school, she attended Northeastern University.
Prior to her illness, she worked as an aide at the Tewksbury Hospital for several years.
Katie will be fondly remembered for her generosity and friendly and outgoing personality.
Survivors include her longtime companion, Gary Leigh: her sister, Ann Marie O’Brien: her brothers, Thomas B. Hodgson, III and his wife Karen, and John F. Hodgson and his wife Lisa. She leaves many nieces, nephews, cousins, and extended family members.
Katie was the wife of the late Peter J. McHugh and sister-in-law of the late Stephen M. O’Brien.
At the request of her family, services will be private. Interment of her ashes will be at Tewksbury Cemetery.
