Obituary

Marcus J. Wachoski, a resident of Phillipston, entered into eternal life on Wednesday, January 31, 2024 at the Kaplan Family Hospice House in Danvers. He was 69 years of age.

Marcus was born in Boston on June 27, 1954. Marcus attended various schools throughout Massachusetts, graduating from Narragansett Regional High School in 1973.
Marcus followed his much-admired Dad into the Union Laborers Trade. He enjoyed all aspects of the trade – from pouring foundations to demolition work.

Marcus was proud to be part of the renaissance of Kendall Square in Cambridge – where he happened to meet the love of his life - Kathleen.
Marcus later chose to pursue the pipefitting trade after taking a class at Wentworth Institute. He reinvented his career and became an apprentice in the Pipefitters Local in Fitchburg. He then launched a successful career as a journeyman in Boston Pipefitters Local 537 where he built a reputation for being able to weld “ice”. Marcus was a proud member and retired in 2019.

In addition to his fulfilling construction career – he had many personal pursuits. Marcus was a phenomenal dog-trainer, lover of motorcycles, and he had a great passion for the freedom of the open water. Marcus was a skilled boater, a certified PADI Open Water Diver and a swim instructor and lifeguard...saving more than one overly confident young swimmer. Marcus enjoyed travelling…whether it was a cross-country camping trip, or a much-relished week in Cancun, Mexico.

Marcus is the loving son of the late Alois Wachoski and Virginia “Ginger” (DeJesus) Wachoski. He is the beloved brother of Paula Civitareale, Debra-Starr Engelhardt, and the late Paul J. “Sonny” Rodriguez and Alois M. Wachoski. He is the dear uncle of Michelle Indelicato and her husband Anthony, Courtney A. Civitareale and her partner Chris, Cherice and her husband Chris, David O'Malley and his wife Kat, Michael O'Malley and his wife Deedee, great-uncle to Julia Rose, Anthony Rocco, Gianna Reese, Nicholas Roman, Charlie and big brother "G"), Caity Mak. He is also survived by his dear aunt Ernestine “Snooky” Nocon and many loving cousins and dear friends.

Marcus was a kind, patient, sweet man who was beloved by many – from family and friends, he will be greatly missed
