Cedus W. Lee, 81, of Fitzgerald, Georgia, died Monday, February 5, 2024, at her residence.
Funeral services will be held 3 PM, Wednesday, February 7, 2024, at The Paulk Funeral Home Chapel, in Fitzgerald, Georgia, with the Rev. Tommy Land, Jr. officiating. Her niece, Kelly Beall Deason, will give the eulogy. Interment will follow in Evergreen Cemetery, Fitzgerald. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the services at the funeral home on Wednesday.
Mrs. Lee was born September 25, 1942, in Jeff Davis County, Georgia, to the late Edison & Eva Mae Williams White. She was a graduate of Jeff Davis High School. She worked in insurance with Thompson Insurance Agency for several years. Along with Opal Pridgen, she made custom drapes for many homes in the area. Mrs. Lee was an excellent seamstress and homemaker. She was a member of the Green Thumb Garden Club and Bethel Baptist Church.
She is survived by her husband of 62 years, James Lee, Jr. of Fitzgerald; daughter: Terri & Bobby Smith of Fitzgerald; son, James Edison “Jamie” Lee of Fitzgerald; grandchildren: Joshua & April Smith, Savannah & Nick Willis, McKenzie Lee, Amelia Lee, and Parker Carrigan; great-grandchildren: Wesley Smith, Audrey Smith, Jaxon Saylor and Kalvyn Saylor; siblings: Marilyn Brackett of Waycross, Glenda McLemore of Fitzgerald, Roy White of Americus, Phyllis Westberry of Kville, Leasia Beall of Hazlehurst, and Sherry Beck of Hazlehurst. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by a sister, Rochelle Geiger and a brother, Roger White.
