Obituary

In loving memory of Zofia Schapoval 03/13/1936 - 02/01/2024
The world mourns the loss of a remarkable soul, Zofia Schapoval, who passed away on February 1st , 2024. Today the world feels so still without her. She was a devoted wife to her late husband, Ivan, caring mother to her three daughters Nina, Valentina and Maria, and a grandmother to so many. Zofia leaves behind a legacy that will resonate through time. She has touched the lives of so many. Her home was a haven, where families gathered at her table and laughter echoed through her walls. She showed us the value of bringing families and generations together. She now joins her late husband, Ivan Schapoval. Their love story, a journey that brought them to America, is a testament to their resilience and the pursuit of their dreams. They built a life and legacy of love and family. It hurts all our hearts to let someone so special go, but she is never truly gone. She has enriched all our lives. She will walk beside each of us every day, unseen and unheard but forever in our hearts. The world may change but her memory lives on in all of us. We do not see the value in most moments until they are memories.
Let us honor Zofia not just today but throughout our lives and always come together as a family.
Funeral Services will be held at The Russian Orthodox Church of the Epiphany, 963 South St., Roslindale on Tuesday February 6 at 11 am. Interment will then follow at The Gardens-Gethsemane, West Roxbury.
