After an extended illness, Elaine Adelia Hickey Herman passed away Jan. 28, 2024, peacefully at home surrounded by family. Elaine was born Nov. 22, 1957. She earned a bachelor's degree in art from Eastern Connecticut State University and ultimately displayed her work in various art galleries throughout Connecticut.
Elaine loved God and her family above all else and had the heart of a servant. The unconditional love that she received from the Lord was shared with everyone around her. Elaine was 66 years old and is survived by her devoted husband Jacob; four adult children, Jacob, Nicholas, Dillon and Kaitlin; and eight grandchildren. She is also survived by her mother Dawn Fleming; and siblings, Dawn Hickey, Fleurette Fallon, Frances Thompson, Debbie Kaser, and Jim Hickey.
A memorial service celebrating Elaine's life will take place at 2 p.m. Saturday, Feb. 3, at 2nd Baptist Church, 12 Stillman Road, North Stonington.
