Marion E. (Thompson) Blanchette, 66, formerly of Salem passed away unexpectedly at the Beverly Hospital on Tuesday, January 30, 2024 following a long illness. She was the wife of the late Norman J. Blanchette.
Born in Lewiston, ME and raised in Salem, she was the daughter of the late Jack R. and Virginia L. (Dearborn) Thompson. A graduate of Salem High Class of ’75, she began working as an underwriter for John Hancock Ins. Co. following her graduation. Marion was devoted to her family and church. She was an active member of Ste. Anne Parish in Salem.
Marion is survived by her two daughters, Stephanie L Blanchette & Christina M. Blanchette of Salem, and her granddaughter Eyreland. She was one of sixteen children and is survived by eight siblings Patricia, Cynthia, Joyce, Loraine, Kenneth, James & Matthew as well as many nieces and nephews In addition to her husband, she is predeceased by seven brothers.
Family and friends are invited to her Funeral Mass on Monday, February 5, 2024 at 11:00 AM in Ste. Anne Church, 290 Jefferson Ave., Salem followed by her burial in Greenlawn Cemetery, Salem. Visiting hours, at the Levesque Funeral Home, 163 Lafayette St. [Route 114 / 1-A] Salem are on Sunday Feb. 4th from 2:00 to 6:00 PM.
