Obituary

Bill Livingston passed away on January 31, 2024, at North East Georgia Medical Center in Gainesville, Ga.

Bill was born June 4, 1940, in Fitzgerald, GA to the late Aubrey Lee Vanzant Livingston and Grady Livingston. He was a 1958 graduate of Fitzgerald High School. He served honorably in the U.S. Navy for 20 years, retiring as a Master Chief Petty Officer spending his time on board submarines or supporting the submarines. Bill served at many duty stations including Key West, FL; Charleston, SC; Newport News, VA; Napa, CA; Pearl Harbor, HI and made deployments from Pearl Harbor, Key West, Charleston, Rota, Spain, and Holy Loch, Scotland.

After his Naval Career, Bill returned home to Ben Hill County where he farmed for a few years, but eventually worked at Hatch Nuclear Plant near Baxley, Georgia for Georgia Power retiring from there after 15 years of service.
Bill is survived by his lovely wife Carolyn K. Livingston and cherished the last 9 years together living in the North GA Mountains with their wonderful friends. Also surviving are step-daughter Andrea (Ramy) Molavi, step-sons Carroll Brown, Scott (Denise) Brown, and Jeff (Lori) Brown. Also surviving are his sister-in-law and brothers-in-law, Marlene and Bob White of Irwinville, Marvin and Linda Cauley of Albany, and eight step-grandchildren. Numerous cousins, nephews, and nieces also survive. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his first wife Laverne, and treasured son Scott.

Visitation will be held from 4:30 pm to 5:30 pm at Cochran Funeral Home of Blairsville, GA on Friday, February 2, 2024, and a Funeral Service will be held at 5:30 pm.

A Graveside service will be held on Saturday, February 3, 2024, at 3:00 pm at Salem Church Cemetery in Ben Hill County with Rev. Tommy Land, Jr. officiating.

In lieu of flowers, the family asks to send memorials to a charity of your choice.
