Marilyn Louise McLaughlin, 56, of Ocilla, Georgia, died Tuesday, January 30, 2024, at her residence.
Memorial services will be held 2 PM, Friday, February 2, 2024, at The Paulk Funeral Home Chapel in Fitzgerald, with the Rev. Steve O’Neal officiating.
Ms. McLaughlin was born February 22, 1967, in Augusta, Georgia, to the late William Franklin & Beatrice Youngblood Bodiford. She enjoyed dancing, reading and watching soap operas. Ms. McLaughlin was a very outspoken person and loved her family deeply.
She is survived by her daughter, Brittany Sumner & Justin of Fitzgerald; a grandchild, Briggs Sumner; siblings: Margaret Brannen, Marie Smith & Eugene, Mary Vaughn & William, Marlene Johnson and David Bodiford & Shelley. Several nieces and nephews also survive. Special family, Fay & Isaac Whitley of Ocilla, who she considered extra parents and sisters-in-law: Kim Rodgers & Billy of Fitzgerald and Kristy Staton & Neal of Cleveland, Tennessee. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her step-mother, Lena Pearl Bodiford.
Paulk Funeral Home, Fitzgerald, is in charge of arrangements.
