Dallas Everette Yawn, 74, of Jacksonville, Florida passed away Friday, June 10, 2005, at University Hospital in Jacksonville, Florida. A graveside funeral service was held for Mr. Yawn at 1:00 a.m. Tuesday, June 14, 2005, at Saint Luke's Cemetery in Alapaha, where he was laid to rest. The Rev. Jody Abney officiated.
Ernest Hermann, Timmy Yawn, Michael Scogin, Chad O'Neal, Jeremy Hermann, Matthew Hermann, Joshua Scogin, Cody Yawn and Corey Yawn served as pallbearers.
Born December 18, 1930, in Cook County, Mr. Yawn was the son of the late Avery Hampton Yawn and Pearl Elizabeth Blount Yawn. Before retiring, he worked for Anchor Hocking Glass company for 27 years. He had been a long-time resident of Jacksonville, Florida.
Mr. Yawn is survived by his wife, Ora Yawn of Jacksonville, Florida; one son and daughter-in-law, Ted and Sherry Yawn; three daughters and sons-in-law, Neida and Clyde O'Neal, Deborah and Crickett Hermann and Kathy and Scotty Scogin; one sister, Elizabeth Singletary; twelve grandchildren; and ten great-grandchildren.
