Luther "Gene" King

Luther "Gene" King, 76, of Anderson went to be with the Lord January 29, 2024 at his residence.
Gene was born April 16, 1947 in Livingston, Tennessee, the son of Arvil and Auda M. (Carter) King.
He was a truck driver for Stearns Moving and Storage for more than 30 years. He was a member of the First Pentecostal Church.
Gene enjoyed fishing, mushroom hunting, being with family and was a big Indiana University basketball fan.
Gene is survived by his two sons, Jeff (Lynn) King of Anderson and Bart (Tammy) King of Alexandria; six grandchildren, Skylar, Kylynn, Amanda, Angel, Scotty and Ashley; several great-grandchildren, several nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents; his wife Mary (McMahan) King, whom he married August 4, 1971; siblings, Arlin, Cleston, Fred, Larry, Bonita King and Veon King.
Funeral service will be at 1:00 p.m. on Tuesday, February 6, 2024 at the First Pentecostal Church of Anderson with Bishop Danny St. Clair officiating. Burial will follow in East Maplewood Cemetery.
Visitation will be Tuesday, from 11 a.m. until the 1 p.m. service at the church.
