Shawna Marie McGrath, a lifelong resident of Charlestown, entered into eternal life suddenly, at her home on Monday, January 29, 2024. She was 51 years of age.
Shawna was born in Everett on January 20, 1973, a daughter of William "Matches" McGrath and the late Patricia A. (Reardon) McGrath. She grew up in Charlestown where she was educated at St. John's Parochial School in the North End and graduated from Pope John High School in Everett in 1991. Shawna furthered her education and attended Youville School of Practical Nursing where she received her Degree in Nursing in 1998. She worked as a nurse at Spaulding Rehabilitation Hospital in Boston for several years. She enjoyed listening to Pearl Jam and whenever she was able to spend time with her nieces and nephews.
Shawna is the beloved daughter of William "Matches" McGrath and the late Patricia A. (Reardon) McGrath. She is the devoted sister of Tom McGrath and his wife Pam and the late Patricia McNeil, Paula Tirro, Joanne Coleman and Charles Libby. She is also survived by her many loving nieces and nephews.
Relatives and friends are invited to attend Shawna's visiting hours on Friday morning, February 2, 2024, from 10 A.M. to 11:30 A.M. followed by her Funeral Prayer Service at 11:30 A.M. in The Carr Funeral Home, 220 Bunker Hill St. Charlestown. Her burial will be private.
