Elaine P. Dube, 91, passed away on Monday, January 29, 2024, at UMass Memorial Health Alliance Hospital – Leominster Campus, after a brief illness. She was born in Worcester, the daughter of the late Ernest and Florence (Ayotte) Dube, and graduated from Holy Name High School.
Elaine dedicated many years of her life to serving others. She retired from the Worcester Public Schools, where she worked in the cafeteria. Prior to her time in the school system, she worked at various grocery stores in Worcester and the former Henry L. Hanson Company.
She was preceded in death by her eight brothers and sisters: Russell, Ernest, Armand, Clement, Edmund, Vivian Norris, Lorraine Dube, and Anne Lefebvre. Elaine is also survived by numerous nieces and nephews, among them Jacqueline McEvilly of Clinton, who lovingly served as her primary caretaker.
Elaine was a devoted member of the former Holy Name of Jesus Church in Worcester until its closure in 2008. Subsequently, she joined Our Lady of the Angels Church, where she remained a cherished member until her passing. She actively participated in the Emblem Club and was a longstanding member of the Worcester Ski Club. Elaine found joy in the company of her nieces and nephews, taking immense pride in their accomplishments. She cherished moments spent with them and never missed an opportunity to attend family functions or support them in their sporting events. Elaine, as well as her family, appreciated the time she spent at the Corcoran House in Clinton.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Thursday, February 1, 2024, at 11 AM in Our Lady of the Angels Church, 1222 Main Street, Worcester. Following the Mass, Elaine will be laid to rest in the Notre Dame Mausoleum, Worcester. A calling hour will be held before the funeral from 9:30 to 10:30 in Alfred Roy & Sons Funeral Home 12 Hammond St. Worcester. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions in memory of Elaine may be made to the Our Lady of the Angels Catholic School 1220 Main Street Worcester, MA 01603.
