LACONIA ---- Joshua ‘Josh’ S. Ellsworth, of Laconia, died on Friday, January 26, 2024, after a long struggle with addiction. He was 35 years old.
Josh was born on August 11, 1988, in Laconia, the son of Scott Ellsworth and Kathryn (Edgar) Marden.
Josh loved the outdoors. He was always happy when fishing, snowmobiling or hunting. When indoors, he couldn’t wait to create and cook a delicious meal for himself and others. He also loved to watch baseball and football and spending time with his nieces and nephews.
Over the years, Josh worked as a chef, castings worker and a welder. He enjoyed working and was always willing to lend a helping hand.
Joshua had a huge heart, loved his family, and knew he was loved. Caring members of his family tried to help him release the powerful grip of addiction several times, but in the end, that release was not a part of his journey. Loving an addict can be painful. There are times when you want them to recover more than they are able. IT is a tough reality to accept. Addiction does not discriminate. In Joshua’s memory, his family asks that you lend a helping hand to someone you may know struggling.
Josh is survived by his mother Kathryn Marden and her husband Mike, his father Scott Ellsworth and his significant other Karen Constant, sisters Melinda Riley and her husband Joe and Stacey Ellsworth, grandmother Helen Ellsworth, aunts Debbie Brewer and her husband Gene, Tricia Furbish and her significant other Dale McBeath, and Donna Curran and her husband Bobby, and so many beloved nieces, nephews, aunts, uncles, cousins and friends. He is predeceased by his grandparents, William and Cathy Edgar, Mr. and Mrs. Carroll Marden and Wendell Ellsworth, uncles, Rick Furbish, Michael Ellsworth and Jeff Ellsworth, and his nephew Hunter Toth.
There will be no calling hours.
A Memorial Service will be held on Tuesday, February 6, 2024, at 11:00am, at the Gilford Community Church, 19 Potter Hill Road, Gilford, NH 03249.
