Robert “Bob” Syverson
March 29, 1945- January 27, 2024
Robert Lee Syverson, 78, passed away Saturday, January 27, 2024 in Alexandria.
He was born on March 29, 1945, in Chicago, Illinois, the son of Paul Syverson and Elodia (Menary) Syverson Grant.
Robert was employed for 50 years as an electrician with IBEW #1393 retiring in 2013, 25 of those years were spent as an electrician with Ball Memorial Hospital. Bob was a member of the Alexandria Eagles and the Daleville American Legion and former member of the Daleville Masonic Lodge and the Madison County Shrine Club. He enjoyed spending time outdoors and spending time with his family. He loved his dog “Lily”.
He is survived by his wife, Julia Kay (Dill) Syverson, whom he married August 6, 1976; his six children, Michael Richard (Marna) Syverson of Florida, Paul D. (Kelly) Syverson of Anderson, Jason Eric (Shelley) Syverson of Tennessee, Andrea (Jeremy) Lambert of Anderson, Danielle (Michael) Gibbs of Monroeville, Dorian (Jay) Weston of Alexandria; 14 grandchildren; several great grandchildren; several nieces and nephews; and close family and friends, Penny Syverson, Mike Whitaker and Sammy Montgomery.
Robert was preceded in death by his parents, son, Robert Lee Syverson, Jr.; two brothers, Owen Paul and Richard Dowden Syverson and a sister, Sonja Menary.
A celebration of life will be held on March 29, 2024 at the Eagles #1771 in Alexandria beginning at 3:00 p.m. followed by socializing and dinner.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be given to Shriner's Hospital or the Alexandria Eagles.
