Gloria C. (Russell) Whitten, 70, passed away on the evening of Thursday, January 25. She was surrounded by loved ones and passed peacefully at Baystate Medical Center in Springfield, MA. Gloria was born in Danbury, CT and was a proud graduate of UConn, where she graduated at the top of her class. She went on to pursue a career in the medical field as a Physical Therapist, practicing for 25 years. Due to her dedication and commitment to her patients, she was published in Who’s Who. Gloria’s life was filled with many beautiful memories of family and friends. She was a passionate animal advocate and devout Judeo-Christian. Gloria is survived by her son Ian Whitten and daughter Jessica Whitten. She leaves behind sibling’s Jeanne C. (Russell) Pelletier and John Russell, and is predeceased by Natalie C. Russell and Marilie C. (Russell) VanWie. She is also survived by her partner Steve Gold and their two cats. Before her passing, Gloria requested that her life be celebrated among those she loved. We will be scheduling a Celebration of Life to fulfill her wishes. The specifics will be provided at a future date, as the family wishes to grieve privately at this time.
