James Francis Moynihan, 75 years of age, of Norwood, MA died on January 25th, 2024 at the West Roxbury VA Hospital after a short illness. Jim is survived by his sister Teresa Hart (Michael) and his brothers Jack Moynihan (Rose), Tom Moynihan (Kathy), and Dan Moynihan (Nancy). He was a loving uncle to 12 nieces and nephews and 9 great nieces and nephews. Jim was preceded in death by his parents Teresa Farrell Moynihan and John Moynihan and by his sister, Judy Sullivan.
Jim graduated from Mission High School in 1967 and enlisted in the army after receiving his degree. After his time in the service, he had numerous jobs but Jim was passionate about what became his ultimate calling: “Big Jim Taximan” and was known and loved by many for his caring ways in that role. He was very proud of having completed the Boston Marathon multiple times and was a well-known and well-liked figure in Mission Hill where he grew up.
Visiting Hours in the William J. Gormley Funeral Home 2055 Centre St West Roxbury on Wednesday, January 31st from 4-7pm. Funeral from the funeral home on Thursday, February 1st at 9am followed by Funeral Mass in St. Theresa Church at 10am. Interment St. Joseph Cemetery.
