James Michael Finley, 91, of Franklin died January 25 in Milford Regional Medical Center in Milford. He was the husband of Mary Ann (Mulkerrins) Finley for the past 44 years.
Born in Boston, May 8,1932, the son of the late George B. Finley and Dorothy Shea, Jim was raised in Everett and had lived in Franklin since 1987.
Jim had been an IT technician for the Massachusetts Department of Unemployment for several years. He had previously worked for American Airlines as a ticket agent.
Jim enjoyed music and was a member of the Franklin Knights of Columbus.
Jim had been a "Friend of Bill W's for 48 years."
He had served in the Air Force during the Korean War attaining the rank of Staff Sergeant.
His funeral mass will be celebrated on Tuesday January 30 in St. Mary’s Church Franklin at 11 a.m.
Burial will be the following day on Wednesday January 31 at the Massachusetts National Cemetery in Bourne at 1:30 p.m.
Visitation will be on Tuesday from 9:00-10:30 a.m. in the Ginley Funeral Home of Franklin (www.ginleyfuneralhomes.com)131 Main Street, Franklin.
Due to limitations at the National Cemetery the family requests that donations be made in Jim’s memory to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital, 501 St. Jude Place, Memphis, TN 38105.
