David P. Byers

TEWKSBURY: David P. “Bibs” Byers, age 62, a resident of Tewksbury for over 50 years, passed away at the Lahey Clinic in Burlington on Wednesday, January 24, 2024 surrounded by his family.
He was the beloved husband of Debra A. (Pierson) Byers, who passed away on September 25, 2020.
Born in Cambridge on September 8, 1961, he was the son of Katherine F. (Coughlin) Byers, of Tewksbury and the late William F. Byers, Sr.
Dave was raised in Tewksbury and graduated from Tewksbury Memorial High School in 1979. After high school, he attended Salem State University.
Prior to his retirement in 2022, he worked for 24 years as a carpenter and was a member of Carpenters Local # 33 of Boston.
Dave loved playing hockey and golfing. In recent years, he worked as a starter and ranger at Hickory Hill Golf Course in Methuen.
In addition to his mother, Dave is survived by his son, Augustus D. “Gus” Byers, of Groton. He was the brother of Sandra M. Byers-Ryea and her late husband Edward, of Salem, NH, Mary Carney and her husband Dan, of Nashua, NH, James M. Byers and his wife Annette, of Stoneham, and the late William F. “Willie” Byers. He leaves many nieces, nephews, and extended family members.
Calling hours are Sunday, January 28th, from 1-4 p.m. at the Farmer & Dee Funeral Home, 16 Lee Street, Tewksbury. His funeral procession will begin on Monday, January 29th, at 10:30 a.m. at the funeral home, followed by his Funeral Mass at 11:30 a.m. at St. William’s Church, 1351 Main Street, Route 38, Tewksbury.
