Judith (Judy) Clements Griffin, 81, of Ocilla, Georgia, died Thursday, January 25, 2024, at Colquitt Regional Senior Care in Moultrie, Georgia.
Funeral services will be held 11 AM, Tuesday, January 30, 2024, at Big Creek Baptist Church in Irwin County, with the Rev. Ike Thomas & Rev. Tracy Clements officiating. Interment will follow in the church cemetery. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the services in the church sanctuary.
Judy was born March 18, 1942, in Ocilla, Georgia to the late Edgar Felton & Delia Clements. She graduated from Irwin County High School in 1960. She worked at the Board of Education for Irwin County Schools. She was known for her powerful and expressive singing voice. She was a faithful member of Big Creek Baptist Church.
She is survived by her son, John Griffin, and Stacy of Moultrie; a grandson Joseph (JW) Griffin of Nashville, Tennessee; a granddaughter Sophie Griffin of Moultrie; a sister-in-law Frances Clements of Cordele; and a sister-in-law Mavis Plemmons, and Steve of Green Cove Spring, Florida.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband James Griffin; a brother Jimmy Clements; and a sister Ginger Mixon.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests any memorial gifts be made to Gideons International.
