LIMERICK- Raymond “Ray” Clifford Webber, 80, of Limerick, passed away on January 20, 2024, peacefully at his home surrounded by his loving family.
He was born in Portland, Maine on November 27, 1943, and grew up in Limerick Maine. He left for a short time to serve in the United States Army. You could often here him talking to his grandkids about his time in Germany. After the Army, Ray returned to Limerick to live in the home he grew up in. Some years later he met the love of his life, Gertrude “Trudy” Webber, and the two were united in marriage on December 2, 1972. These two soul mates were married for an incredible 47 years until her passing in 2019. Together they had two daughters, Stacey and Dawn Webber. Four Grandchildren, Felicia, Paul, Adam, and Brent, and Five Great Grandchildren, Riley, Curtis, Braiden, Amaya, and Kayson.
Ray was a man that could not sit still for long. You could always find him out on a daily outing with his longtime friend Billy, out tinkering in his garage, cruising in his Studebaker, Jeep, or on his Harley. He also loved camping trips in his old motorhome and could be seen down at The Peppermill Restaurant catching up with some of his dear friends and neighbors.
In 2003 he started working for Limerick Machine Co., and even when he would inevitably “retire”, he still continued to be one of their devoted workers until his passing. He thought the world of his Limerick Machine co-workers, and always considered them family.
Ray was one of those guys that always made you laugh and smile with a sense of humor that was truly one in a million. He deeply touched the hearts of everyone who knew him. He will be forever loved, sadly missed, but never forgotten.
A Celebration of Life will take place on Saturday, February 3, 2024, 2:00-4:00pm, at the Brick Town Hall, 9 Main Street, Limerick Maine. All are welcome.
