Philip Morton Silver of Saugus passed away on January 24, 2024 surrounded by his family. Philip was the beloved husband of the late Madeline Silver (Winocour). Philip was a Korean War Army Veteran who loved theatre, singing, and telling wonderful stories. He was also an avid sports fan and a beloved basketball coach at Evans Elementary in Saugus and for the Chelsea Youth Commission. He was the devoted father of Steven Silver and his wife Ann Burnham and Brian and Lauren Silver. He was the dear brother of Reggie Sussman and the loving grandfather of Michelle, Cole, and Lila Silver. Philip will be remembered for his sense of humor and the many lives he touched.
Services at the Torf Funeral Chapel, 151 Washington Avenue, Chelsea, on Sunday, January 28 at 11:00 AM. Interment to follow in Everett. Contributions in Philip’s memory may be made to the Michael J. Fox Foundation for Parkinson’s Research, PO Box 5014, Hagerstown, MD, 21741.
