Obituary

John Thompson "Jack" Hill, 87, of East Freetown died Tuesday, January 23, 2024 at Charlton Memorial Hospital after a period of declining health. He was the husband of the late Susan E. (Bourgeois) Hill.

Born in Boston, son of the late Leroy Draper Hill and the late Jean (Thompson) Hill, he grew up in Wellesley and later lived in Marion before moving to East Freetown.

Jack served in the United States Army Reserve.

He was formerly employed as a maintenance mechanic at Polaroid Corporation in New Bedford for many years until his retirement.

Jack enjoyed antique trains and cars, politics, and Polaroid Cameras. He also loved telling stories, singing songs, reading, and spending time with his family.

He is survived by his daughter, Kelsey Hill; his son, Kristoffer Garcia and his wife Danielle; three grandchildren, Morgan, Molly and Mason Garcia; his brother, Peter Hill and his wife Margie; and several nieces and nephews.

He was predeceased by his brother, Draper Hill.
