Mrs. Caroline C. Dimitriou, 78, of Salem, NH, passed away on Sunday, January 21, 2024, at Lawrence General Hospital. Daughter of the late Roberta (Rudolph) Landry and the late Leo Landry, she was born in the Bronx, NY and came to the Merrimack Valley as a young girl and was raised in Lowell. She graduated from Lowell High School where she met her beloved husband Evangelos Dimitriou. They were married for 57 wonderful, love-filled years before his passing in 2022. They travelled the world together despite her overwhelming fear of flying and spent many winters with their endearing pets in Boca Raton, FL. Carol had an artistic flair having tried her hand at ceramics while a young mother and at painting as an empty-nester. She was also a voracious reader for most of her adult life and thoroughly enjoyed her book (aka wine) clubs. Most of all she loved to spend time with her family and was a master of planning and preparing large family meals days in advance. She is survived by her dear son Philip, her son and daughter-in-law Steven and Elena, her brother-in-law and sister-in-law Charles and Pam Doulamis, and her beloved Aunt Dottie Schmitt, aged 103, living in South Carolina.
The family shall honor Carol’s wishes of not conducting a formal funeral or memorial ceremony but greatly appreciates the outpouring it has received from friends and family. In lieu of flowers, a donation may be made in Carol’s name to the MSPCA at https://www.justgiving.com/page/caroline-dimitriou
