Obituary

WEST BOYLSTON-Dr. Dimitrios S. Tsagronis, a highly respected family physician in the Worcester area for more than 40 years, died of pancreatic cancer on Wednesday July 5th at his home in West Boylston. He was 81 years old. He is survived by his wife of 45 years, Rita M. (Ucic) Tsagronis, 2 sons, S. John Tsagronis of Arlington, VA and Joseph E. Tsagronis of Carrollton, VA, a brother and 2 sisters all of Athens, Greece and 2 granddaughters that he adored, Kathryn and Sophie Tsagronis both of Arlington, VA. He was predeceased by a sister.

He was born in Kalamata, Greece the son of Spilios A. and Evgenia (Rousi) Tsagronis. Dr. Tsagronis served in the Greek Army. He received his medical degree from the National University of Athens. Dr. Tsagronis interned at Augustana Hospital in Chicago, IL, served his residency in surgery at Lakewood Hospital in Lakewood, OH, and his chief residency in general practice at Euclid-Glenville Hospital in Euclid, OH. He was a member of St. Spyridon Greek Orthodox Cathedral, St. Nicholas Greek Orthodox Church, Clinton, Massachusetts Medical Society, and Worcester District Medical Society.
