Paul D. Williams, age 71, of Brockton and Placida, FL, died unexpectedly on January 17, 2024 at Fawcett Hospital in Port Charlotte, FL. Born in Boston, he was the son of the late Paul P. and Louise (Rees) Williams. Paul was raised in Avon and Hanson and was a graduate of Whitman Hanson High School.
He served in the Navy during Vietnam and was a 51 year member of Pipefitters Local 537 in Boston.
Paul was funny with a dry sense of humor. He enjoyed his motorcycles, sports and time at the beach, but family was the most important to him.
Paul is survived by his son Paul R. Williams and his wife Laurie of Swansea and three grandchildren, Olivia, Daniella and Paul “PJ”. He was the brother of Richard Williams and his wife Barbara, Nancy Wayne, Gayle Hinckley and her partner Joe Walsh, John Williams and his wife Barbara, Lee Robertson and her husband Kenny and the late Jan Williams. He is also survived by several nieces and nephews.
Visiting Hours will be held in the Conley Funeral Home, 138 Belmont Street (Rte 123) Brockton, Monday, January 29, from 4-7pm. A Funeral Service will be held in the funeral home Tuesday at 9:30am followed by burial in the Massachusetts National Cemetery at 11:15am.
